A. Purpose of System Operation

As KISTI's fifth supercomputer (NURION) was decided to be a Knight Landing-based system, a separate system was needed to accommodate user demand for GPU-based systems.

High-capacity memory nodes are being operated to fulfill the demand for tasks requiring large memory resources.

Service of NEURON has commenced in May 2019 with the 5th system sharing the file system. Cutting-edge technologies (FPGA, AMD EPYC, Optane, etc.) are continuously adopted and expanded.
